Early testers

Try Vclip before everyone else.

The best part of any video, saved in seconds and ready to post. Be one of the first to try it.

We'll only email you about new tester versions and to ask how it's going. How we keep your details

Install it in five steps

  1. Unzip it, and keep the folder

Open the file you downloaded. You get a folder called vclip. Move it somewhere it can stay, like Documents: Chrome runs Vclip from that folder, so don't delete it.

  2. Open your browser's extensions page

Type this into the address bar and press Enter. Websites can't link to it, so here it is to copy:

    chrome://extensions

In Edge it's edge://extensions; in Brave and Arc, the Chrome address works.

  3. Switch on Developer mode

It's a switch in the top-right corner of that page (in Edge, on the left). It lets you add an extension from a folder.

  4. Click Load unpacked, and choose the vclip folder

Select the folder itself (not a file inside it). Vclip appears in your list of extensions.

  5. Pin Vclip to your toolbar

Click the puzzle piece next to the address bar, then the pin beside Vclip. Its icon now sits by the address bar, one click away.

That's it. Open any video, point at it, and click Clip, or practise first on the Welcome page.

Good to know

"Disable developer mode extensions"?
Chrome may say this when it starts, because the tester version comes from a folder rather than the store. That's expected: click Cancel (or close it) to keep Vclip. The store version won't ask.
A new tester version
We'll let you know. Download it, replace your vclip folder with the new one, then click the reload arrow on Vclip in your extensions page. Your clips stay.
Private, like the real thing
It's the same Vclip: your clips are made and kept on your computer, and nothing is sent to us. See the Privacy Policy.
