1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use the Vclip browser extension or this website, tryvclip.com. By using them, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Vclip. “Vclip”, “we” and “us” mean the people who make Vclip.
2. What Vclip is
Vclip lets you save part of a video playing in your browser, as a clip or a screenshot, sized for where you want to share it. It records the video as it plays, on your computer. It doesn't download videos from websites, and it doesn't upload anything to us.
3. Using Vclip responsibly
Vclip is a tool, like a screenshot. How you use it is up to you, and you agree to use it lawfully. In particular:
- Only share what you have the right to share. A clip of someone else's video is still their work. Credit the creator, and follow the rules of the site you clipped from and the place you share it.
- Don't repost paid or exclusive content. Films, series, paid courses and other content people pay for aren't yours to redistribute.
- Don't try to get around protection. Some sites, like Netflix and Disney+, block recording. Vclip respects that and tells you when it happens. Don't try to get around it, with Vclip or anything else.
- Don't use Vclip to harm people, for example to harass someone, or to share private moments without consent.
4. Your clips are yours
We don't claim any ownership of the clips and screenshots you make, and we never see them: they stay on your computer. Because of that, you're responsible for what you save and share, and for having the right to share it.
5. Copyright concerns
Vclip doesn't host or publish anyone's clips. If you believe a clip shared online uses your work without permission, please contact the platform where it was posted (such as YouTube, Instagram or TikTok), which can remove it. For anything about Vclip itself, email hello@tryvclip.com.
6. Vclip's software and brand
Vclip, including the extension, this website, the name Vclip and its logo, belongs to us and is protected by copyright. You're welcome to use Vclip for yourself and for your work, but please don't copy, sell, rebrand or redistribute it, or present it as your own.
7. Vclip Pro and payments
Vclip is free to use, and Vclip Pro is our paid plan with more features. Pro opens soon; until then, Vclip is in early access and everything in it is free. Before you buy Pro, you'll see its price, how often you're billed and our refund policy. Payments are handled by our payment provider, so your card details never reach us.
8. Changes to Vclip
We keep improving Vclip, so features may change, be added or be removed.
9. No guarantees
We work hard to make Vclip reliable, but it's provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always work, work on every site, or be free of mistakes. Clips live in your browser and your Downloads folder: uninstalling Vclip deletes your My Clips library, so keep copies of anything important.
10. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses from using Vclip, such as lost clips, lost data or lost income. If we are responsible for something, our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us for Vclip in the 12 months before. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law that can't be taken away.
11. Stopping
You can stop using Vclip at any time by uninstalling it. If someone uses Vclip to break the law or these terms, we may stop offering them our services, such as Vclip Pro.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For a significant change, we'll also say so on this website. Using Vclip after a change means you accept the new terms.
