Keyboard shortcuts

Every move, one key away.

Clip without reaching for the mouse. Here are Vclip's keys for your computer.

Clip and save

These work on any page with a video, whenever you're not typing in a box.

AltI
Pin the start where the video is. Opens the clip panel if it's closed.
AltO
Pin the end where the video is.
AltS
Save the clip, in the size you picked.
AltP
Screenshot the frame on screen, copied and ready to paste.

In the clip panel

Once the panel is open, a few more keys make it exact.

←→
Nudge a handle by a tenth of a second. Click the start or end handle first.
Shift←→
Nudge by a whole second.
Enter
Set a time you typed in the Start or End box.
Esc
Cancel a clip while it saves, or put back the old time while typing one.

Changing your shortcuts

  1. Click Vclip's icon in your browser's toolbar, then Change shortcuts.
  2. Find Vclip, click the pencil next to a shortcut, and press the keys you'd like instead.

Or open your browser's shortcuts page directly. Browsers don't let websites link to it, so copy this into the address bar:

chrome://extensions/shortcuts

In Edge, it's edge://extensions/shortcuts.

If a key is already taken

Your browser gives each shortcut to one extension only. If another extension already has one of Vclip's keys, Vclip listens for that key on the page itself, so it still works whenever you're not typing in a box. Vclip's toolbar button always shows the keys you have.
